Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym will take on OPBF featherweight champion Satoshi Hosono in Japan on January 11 in the first defence of his WBA super-bantamweight title.
Poonsawat enjoys a massage to loosen up before training.
Promoter Niwat Laosuwanwat said he had signed a contract for the fight, which is worth US$150,000 with two options.
Niwat said there weren't any other tempting offers to accept and that he wants to keep Poonsawat busy after the boxer knocked out Bernard Dunne in Ireland last month to win the belt.
"He needs to fight regularly and this is our chance," said the promoter.
"Because the opponent isn't too tough, the price is okay."
Twenty-five year-old Hosono is unbeaten in a 16-fight career, which includes 12 KO wins.
However, he could be at a big disadvantage having to drop to the 122lb division as he has never been that low after turning professional four years ago at super-featherweight.Hosono is known as "Bazooka" and the Japanese won the vacant OPBF title with a points victory over compatriot Makyo Sugita last October. He has defended that belt three times.
Twenty-seven year-old Poonsawat has a 39-1 ledger with 28KOs.
